Yield 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 -- 9" pie crust, unbaked
Filling
3 eggs
1/4c + 2T corn syrup
1/4c + 2T Kahlua
3/4c granulated sugar
2T butter, melted
1t vanilla
1.5c pecan halves
1/2c or more to taste of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, Kahlua, sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour over unbaked crust. Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 degree and bake 30 minutes longer until center is set. Note: you may need to cover loosely with foil to prevent the crust from browning too much as the pie bakes.

I'm not a big fan of chocolate pie, but this one was really good. The Kahlua and pecans added a nice touch. I would definitely make this again.

The pie was delicious, but the crust was a bit soggy. I think I might have overcooked it. Other than that, it was perfect!

This pie was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good. I would recommend using less sugar in the filling next time.
