Yield 1 pie

Number Of Ingredients 12

9 Inch pie crust
Filling
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash of salt
6 cups thinly sliced pared tart apples (about 6 medium)
Crumb Topping
1 cup AP Flour
1/2 cup firm butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425. Mix dry ingredients, stir in apples. Put apple mixture in prepared pie shell. Mix flour, firm butter, and brown sugar until crumbly. Top apple filling with crumb topping.Bake 50 minutes. Cover topping with aluminum foil during last 30 minutes of baking (start watching for browning of crumbs at around 20 minutes. My oven burns the topping before the pie is done).

This is the worst apple pie I've ever had. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I've tried this recipe several times, and I can never get it right. I'm giving up.

This recipe is a waste of time. The pie was bland and the crust was tough.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my pie didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. I think I might have overcooked it.

The crust was a bit dry, but the filling was delicious. I'll try again with a different crust recipe.

This pie was a bit too sweet for my taste, but other than that it was very good.

I'm not a big fan of apple pie, but this one changed my mind. The crust was amazing and the apples were perfectly cooked.

I've made this pie several times now, and it's always a winner. The crust is so flaky and the filling is perfectly spiced.

Easy to follow recipe, even for a novice baker like me. The pie turned out delicious, with a perfect balance of tart and sweet.

This apple pie was a delight! The crust was flaky and the apples were perfectly tender and flavorful. I added a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to the filling, and it turned out even better than I had hoped.
