Can't go wrong with this recipe for potatoes. Like a loaded baked potato!

Provided by Paula Collier

Categories     Potatoes

Time 1h45m

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 pkg shredded frozen hashbrown potatoes
1 pkg large package shredded cheddar cheese
1 large container sour cream
2 can(s) cream of celery soup
2 stick butter, melted
1 pkg real bacon bits
3 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients in a super duper large bowl. May need a strong guy to help. Put in lasagna pan or large baking dish and bake at 350(about an hour and a half) until top and sides get nice and brown and hot in the middle.
  • 2. You can always cut the recipe in half...if I'm having about 15-20 people over, there aren't any leftovers. You can also add chopped green onion or more bacon bits if you like. I prefer to add more shredded cheese than the large package.

These hashbrowns were a little too greasy for my taste. I think I would try using less butter next time.

I love that this recipe uses frozen hashbrowns. It makes it so easy to make a quick and delicious breakfast. I also like that you can add in whatever vegetables you have on hand.

These hashbrowns were a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I served them with eggs and bacon and they were a perfect breakfast.

I've tried many hashbrown recipes, but this one is by far the best. The addition of cream cheese and cheddar cheese takes them to the next level.

These hashbrowns were a little bland for my taste. I think I would add more salt and pepper next time.

I found that the hashbrowns took longer to cook than the recipe said. I had to cook them for an extra 10 minutes to get them crispy.
