Iowa Maid-Rites ( Loose Meat Sandwiches ) image

This was a big winner in our work pot lucks,I was requested to bring it all the time and its easy easy to throw in a crock pot also. It may not be an Authentic Maidrite...but everyone who has tried them seem to agree they are pretty darn good.

I'm a vegetarian, but I still love these sandwiches. I just use crumbled tofu instead of ground beef. They're just as delicious, and they're a lot healthier too.

I love that this recipe uses ground beef. It's a great way to use up leftover meat, and it's also a lot more affordable than using steak or roast beef.

I've been making Maid-Rite sandwiches for years, and this recipe is the best I've found. The secret is in the sauce. It's so simple, but it really makes the sandwich.
