1 cup Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups raisins (or chocolate chips)

Steps:

  • Cream together Crisco and sugars; stir in eggs, water, and vanilla.
  • Add dry ingredients, stirring to blend.
  • Mix in raisins (or chocolate chips).
  • Drop by half teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F or 12 minutes.
  • (Do not let cookies get too brown or they will burn on the bottom.).
