PIZZABURGER image

Number Of Ingredients 18

HAMBURGERS:
2 lb ground chuck
1 TB chopped parsley
1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
2 TB salad oil
SAUCE:
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 clove garlic, crushed
2 cans (8-oz) tomato sauce with mushrooms
1 TB chopped parsley
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp italian seasoning
BREAD:
12 inch long loaf of italian or french bread
Butter
3 slices, cheddar cheese
2 TB grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Make hamburgers: In large bowl, combine chuck, 1 TB parsley, seasoned salt and pepper. Mix lightly with a fork. Shape into 6 hamburgers. In a large skillet over medium heat, saute hamburgers in oil 5 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove. Make sauce: Pour off all but 1 TB fat from skillet. Add onion & garlic. Saute 5 minutes or until golden. Stir in tomato sauce, parsley, sugar, salt and Italian seasoning. Bring to boiling, stiring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered stirring occasionally, 20 minutes. Add hamburgers, simmer, covered, 10 minutes or until heated through. Split bread lengthwise, spread cut surfaces with butter. Place bottom of loaf on a 14 inch length of foil on a cookie sheet. Arrange hamburgers, slightly overlapping on bottom half of loaf. Spoon sauce over them. Insert a half slide of cheese between each 2 hamburgers. sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Place top half of loaf on cookie sheet. Broil, 4 inches from heat 2-3 minutes. To serve put top of loaf in place.

This pizzaburger was amazing! I loved the crispy crust and the cheesy, meaty center. It was easy to make and cooked perfectly in the oven. I will definitely be making this again.
