Round Steak Sauerbraten image

I happened upon a BOGO for bottom round steaks and had absolutely no idea what to do with them. The first package was basically a disaster not knowing that this cut needed more than just a marinade. So, after doing a bit of research on the cut, I found I could adapt this to a dish much like Mom used to make. Enjoy!

The meat was a little tough, but the sauce was delicious. I think I'll try cooking it in a slow cooker next time.

I've made this recipe several times and it always turns out great. The key is to marinate the meat for at least 24 hours. The longer you marinate it, the more flavorful it will be.
