Ruth Cullen's Green Bean Bake image

Green beans in a chili sauce with onions, brown sugar, etc. I've made this for years and my family loves it. It has a really different taste to it.

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 thick slices bacon
½ cup chopped onion
4 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
¾ cup chili sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Remove bacon from skillet, leaving grease. Crumble and set aside.
  • Stir onion into bacon grease, and cook over medium heat until tender; drain.
  • In a medium baking dish, mix bacon, onion, green beans, brown sugar, dry mustard and chili sauce.
  • Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until heated through.
