Sand Castle Brownie Mix image

This is a great mix to give as gifts for the Holidays. Ingredients are layered in a quart-size canning jar which can be decorated.

Yield 1 8X8 pan brownies

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/3 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup flaked coconut (optional)
2/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a 1 Qt glass canning jar, layer the first seven ingredients in the order listed, packing well between each layer.
  • Cover and store in a cool dry place for up to six months.
  • TO BAKE BROWNIES: In a bowl, combine eggs, oil, vanilla, and brownie mix; mix well.
  • Spread into a greased 8 inch square pan.
  • Bake@ 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
