Tender, Moist, Delicious BBQ Pork Ribs image

This is such a great way to cook amazing ribs and it couldn't be any easier. Made with everyday ingredients that you probably already have on hand, you'll wonder why you've ever purchased bottled BBQ sauce. My husband can't get enough of these ribs... a sign of a great recipe. Recipe and photos are my own.

Time 3h10m

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 lbs. baby back pork ribs
SEASON WITH:
salt and pepper, onion powder, and paprika to taste
BBQ SAUCE:
1 tb. plus 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tb. molasses
1 tb. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/8-1/4 tsp. hickory liquid smoke to taste (add sparingly... a little goes a long way.)

Steps:

  • 1. Make sure white membrane has been removed from the back of the baby back ribs. Remove if your butcher hasn't already done so.
  • 2. Place ribs on a large piece of heavy duty foil or double thickness of foil. Season ribs with salt, pepper, onion powder and paprika to taste. Rub into meat thoroughly.
  • 3. Draw up all sides of foil and seal very well. Place on cookie sheet with sides or large roasting pan. Bake at 275 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. (Leave sealed during this process. No peeking. This is what makes them so moist.)
  • 4. Combine BBQ sauce ingredients and warm in microwave for 20-25 seconds. Increase heat to 325 degrees. After 2 1/2 hours, open foil very carefully and drain fat and drippings. Add BBQ sauce, reseal tightly and bake at 325 degrees for an additional 30 minutes. Baste with BBQ sauce from foil packet before serving.
