Time 2h30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 lb turkey breast, bone in
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c soy sauce
1/2 c cooking sherry or apple juice
1/4 c vegetable oil
1 Tbsp ginger powder
1 Tbsp dry mustard
1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1. Combine brown sugar, soy sauce, sherry or apple juice, vegetable oil, ginger, dry mustard and garlic powder, mix well.
  • 2. Pour 1 cup of the marinade in to a large resealable plastic bag(one large enough for the turkey breast to fit in); put turkey in bag. Seal bag and turn a couple times to coat turkey. Place bag on a tray and refrigerate overnight. Pour the remaining marinade in a container and cover and refrigerate for use in basting turkey.
  • 3. In the morning remove turkey from bag and place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Baste every 30 minutes with the reserved marinade. After removing from oven let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

I've tried this recipe several times and it's always perfect. The turkey is always juicy and flavorful, and the teriyaki sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

This recipe is a waste of time. The turkey was bland and the teriyaki sauce was too sweet.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover turkey. I made it with some leftover Thanksgiving turkey and it was just as good as the first time.
