Walnut, Raisin, Apple Bars image

I made these yesterday and took them to a Labor Day Cookout and everyone thought they were delicious. I got the recipe from Family Circle Magazine, but I made a few changes. It called for dried apples but I used fresh ones and it didn't have walnuts in it, which I think goes so well with apples. This is going to be a keeper

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with these bars. They didn't live up to my expectations.

I thought the bars were a bit bland. They needed more spices or something.

I found the crust to be a bit dry. Maybe I overbaked it.

These bars were a little too sweet for my taste.

I'm not a huge fan of raisins, but I still really enjoyed these bars. The apples and walnuts were so good that I didn't even notice the raisins.

I've never tried a dessert with this combination of ingredients before, but the flavors were surprisingly complementary. I especially enjoyed the crunch of the walnuts and the chewiness of the raisins. They added a nice contrast to the soft apples an
