We love the meat that was added to these slow cooker beans. The ground beef along with red beans make these beans very hearty. These are sweet, without being overly sweet, and have a slight tang. Crumbled bacon on top adds the perfect amount of savoriness. Serve these at your next BBQ for a fuss-free side dish.

Steps:
- 1. In a large frying pan, brown ground beef and onion; drain.
- 2. In a large Crock Pot assemble remaining ingredients, except optional bacon.
- 3. Stir well.
- 4. Add drained meat/onion mixture.
- 5. Cook on low 7-8 hours. The mixture will thicken as it cools. The longer you cook, the thicker the consistency. If cooking on stove-top, cover after bringing it to a bubbling simmer, set flame to low and cook about 1-1/2 hours.
- 6. Cook and crumble the bacon.
- 7. I keep this on low in a Crock Pot, crumbling the bacon on top just before serving.
