Tips:
- Use Fresh Shrimp: Fresh shrimp are essential for this recipe. Look for shrimp that are firm and have a slightly translucent appearance. Avoid shrimp that are discoloured or have a strong odour.
- Clean the Shrimp Properly: Before cooking, make sure to clean the shrimp thoroughly. Remove the heads, shells, and tails. You can also devein the shrimp if desired. Deveining is optional, but it will help to remove any grit or sand from the shrimp.
- Marinate the Shrimp: Marinating the shrimp in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs will help to infuse them with flavour. You can marinate the shrimp for as little as 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Cook the Shrimp Properly: Shrimp cook quickly, so it is important not to overcook them. Overcooked shrimp will become tough and rubbery. Cook the shrimp until they are just opaque and pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
