3 to 4 lb beef roast (sirloin tip, rump, english cut)
1 Tbsp oil
1/4 c soy sauce
1 c coffee
2 bay leaves
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp oregano
2 onions, sliced

Steps:

  • 1. sear roast in 1 tablespoon oil on all sides in heavy dutch oven. pour sauce over meat. cover and roast 4-5 hours at 325.

3 lb chuck roast
4 clove garlic minced
1 c brewed coffee
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 c soy sauce
1 large onion sliced
2 bay leaves
2 Tbsp cornstarch
4 Tbsp water

Steps:

  • 1. Add all ingredients except cornstarch and water in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 9 to 10 hours. Remove the roast and onions from the slow cooker and shred. Discard the bay leaves
  • 2. Place the sauce in a sauce pan on stove and bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch with the water and whisk into the sauce to thicken it.
