Time 18m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb fresh green beans
10 slices bacon
5 -8 garlic cloves, very finely minced
1/4 cup butter
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Blanch green beans until tender crisp.
  • Flash in ice water to stop cooking.
  • Fry bacon until crisp; chop into 1/2 " pieces; set aside.
  • Mince garlic; put into a pyrex measuring cup with the butter.
  • Microwave butter and garlic until butter is melted.
  • Toss beans with garlic and butter in a skillet until heated through.
  • Add bacon.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, crisp green beans for the best results. Look for vibrant green beans that snap easily when you bend them.
  • Trim the green beans by removing the tough ends. You can also blanch the green beans in boiling water for a few minutes to help them retain their color and crispness.
  • Cook the green beans until they are tender-crisp. You can do this by boiling, steaming, or sautéing them. Overcooking will make them mushy.
  • Add bacon and garlic for a flavorful twist. Bacon adds a smoky, savory flavor to the green beans, while garlic adds a pungent, aromatic flavor. Cook the bacon until it is crispy and the garlic until it is fragrant.
  • Season the green beans with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as herbs, spices, or lemon juice, to taste.
  • Serve the green beans immediately. They can be served as a side dish or as a main course. Enjoy!

Conclusion:

Bacon garlic green beans are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables, and they are also a good source of protein and fiber.
