Time 30m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ medium onion, chopped
1 (6 ounce) package savory herb-seasoned stuffing mix (such as Stove Top®), crushed
½ cup salted butter, melted
3 medium eggs
2 tablespoons seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground coriander
2 (14 ounce) cans salmon, drained and flaked

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and lightly sweat, about 5 minutes. Transfer onion to a bowl, reserving drippings in the pan.
  • Add stuffing mix, butter, eggs, seafood seasoning, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, and coriander to the onion and mix well. Mix in salmon until well combined. Form mixture into 8 equal-sized patties (I use an old egg ring; works great).
  • Heat the same skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in the hot pan until golden brown and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side.

Tips:

  • Use fresh salmon fillets. Fresh salmon will have a vibrant color and a mild, fishy smell. Avoid fillets that are dull in color or have a strong odor.
  • Season the salmon fillets generously. Old Bay seasoning is a classic choice, but you can also use other seasonings, such as lemon pepper, garlic powder, or paprika.
  • Bake the salmon fillets at a high temperature. This will help to create a crispy crust on the outside and a tender, juicy interior.
  • Serve the salmon fillets immediately. Salmon is best served hot, so it's important to serve it as soon as it's done cooking.

Conclusion:

Baked Old Bay salmon is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that's perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to enjoy fresh salmon, and the Old Bay seasoning gives it a unique and flavorful crust. Whether you're serving it for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this dish is sure to be a hit.
