GRILLED BANANA SPLITS
Steps:
- Cut a small piece off the curved side of 4 unpeeled bananas so they'll sit level, then make a deep slit down the center of each through the peel; place on separate sheets of foil. Open the slits and brush the inside of each banana with melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and 1 ounce chopped semisweet chocolate; fold up the foil. Grill the packets over high heat until the chocolate melts, 6 to 8 minutes (don't worry if the peel turns brown). Open the peels and top the bananas with ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry.

TRADITIONAL BANANA SPLIT
There is some debate in our ice cream parlor what the "traditional" split consists of. I did some research before we opened and it seems that this is the most consistently "traditional" split served, even though some have marshmallow, peanuts, crushed cherries and more. I prefer hot fudge over the chocolate syrup, personally :P

Tips:
- Choose ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana splits will be.
- Use high-quality ice cream: The better the ice cream, the better your banana splits will be. Look for ice cream that is made with real cream and has a smooth, creamy texture.
- Make your own fruit salsa: This is a great way to add a fresh, homemade touch to your banana splits. Use a variety of fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches.
- Get creative with your toppings: In addition to fruit salsa, you can also top your banana splits with whipped cream, nuts, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and more.
- Serve immediately: Banana splits are best enjoyed immediately after they are made. The ice cream will start to melt and the fruit salsa will start to lose its freshness if you wait too long to eat them.
Conclusion:
Banana splits are a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make the best banana splits ever. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give banana splits a try. You won't be disappointed!
