For base and topping
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons finely grated fresh orange zest
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 sticks (1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
For filling
3 cups raspberries or blueberries (3/4 pound)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Line a 9-inch square metal baking pan with a 12-inch-long sheet of foil, pressing it into bottom and up sides. Butter foil.
  • Make base and topping:
  • Blend together oats, flour, brown sugar, zest, baking soda, and salt with your fingertips until well combined. Stir in butter. 1/3 cup butter, melted
1 jar (10 ounces) 100% cherry, strawberry spreadable fruit or raspberry spreadable fruit

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt; stir in butter until crumbly. Reserve 3/4 cup for topping.
