CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BALLS
I adopted this recipe from the RecipeZaar account. I have not had a chance to make this myself. If you are finding that your chocolate is going to hard, melt in a tbsp (or maybe even less) of shortening. That will make the chocolate stay soft. I got that trick from Recipe #89167.

Steps:
- 1. In a large bowl, stir together the peanut butter, confectioners sugar and melted butter until the mixture is crumbly. For the next step, the best way that I've found to make a smooth filling is to use your hands to mix everything together.
- 2. Line a baking sheet with foil. Roll the peanut butter filling into 1 inch balls and line the baking sheet with rows of the balls. Set the baking sheet in the freezer for 5-7 minutes to chill the peanut butter balls for easier dipping.
- 3. While the peanut butter balls are chilling, melt the chocolate in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl that is deep enough for dipping. I melted 6 blocks of chocolate almond bark at a time, stirring at 45 second intervals until smooth.
- 4. Remove the baking sheet from the freezer. Insert a toothpick or wooden skewer into a peanut butter ball and then dip it into the chocolate, turning quickly to cover the entire candy.
- 5. Place onto a second baking tray that has also been lined with foil. Swirl the chocolate on the top of each candy for a pretty design. Refrigerate until the chocolate had completely dried. Store the candies in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PRETZEL BALLS
Steps:
- Crush pretzels into small bits. (I tried this first by bashing the pretzels in a baggie. Then I tried chopping them in a food processor. The results were mostly the same, though I felt I had more control with the baggie method.) In a small bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, brown sugar and salt. Stir until all ingredients are completely blended and smooth. Add pretzel bits to peanut butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Add powdered sugar and, again, mix thoroughly. Prepare a chilling tray--a dinner plate covered with waxed paper works well. Take about a teaspoon of the peanut butter pretzel mixture into your fingers and gently pat it into a ball with your fingertips. If the peanut butter starts sticking to your fingers, your fingers are too warm. Run your fingers under cold water for a minute to chill them, and begin rolling again. Place the peanut butter balls onto the plate. When you have rolled all the balls, place the entire plate into the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes. After the peanut butter balls have chilled, prepare your chocolate. Pour the chocolate chips into a small microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir. If needed, microwave for another 10 seconds and stir again. Continue until the chips are completely melted, which means they stir easily into smooth, fluid chocolate with no lumps. Place one peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate and gently roll it around with a fork until completely coated. Remove from the bowl with the fork and place back on the waxed paper plate. Repeat for all other balls. Once all the peanut butter balls are coated in chocolate, return the plate to the refrigerator and chill another 30 minutes.
PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE CHIP RICE KRISPIES BALLS
Steps:
- Leaving candy bars in wrappers, use a rolling pin to pound and crush bars into small pieces. Place Rice Krispies in a large bowl and set aside. Place peanut butter in a medium-size microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high until hot, about 45 seconds. Add marshmallows and microwave until sotened, about 30 minutes. Working quickly, stir to combine mixture with Rice Krispies. Stir until evenly coated. Add crushed candy bars and chocolate chips. Stir until combined. Coat your hands with oil and shape mixture into spheres the size of golf balls, making 16 treats. The balls will keep up to one week at room temperature.
Tips for Making Perfect Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls:
- Use creamy peanut butter: Creamy peanut butter will give your balls a smooth and velvety texture. If you use chunky peanut butter, the balls will be more crumbly.
- Chill the peanut butter mixture before rolling: Chilling the peanut butter mixture will make it easier to roll into balls. You can also freeze the mixture for 30 minutes to make it even easier to work with.
- Use a melon baller to scoop the peanut butter mixture: A melon baller is the perfect tool for scooping the peanut butter mixture. It will help you create evenly sized balls.
- Roll the balls in cocoa powder or chopped nuts: Coating the balls in cocoa powder or chopped nuts will give them a delicious and festive look. You can also use a mixture of cocoa powder and chopped nuts.
- Chill the balls before serving: Chilling the balls before serving will help them hold their shape. You can store the balls in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Conclusion:
Chocolate peanut butter balls are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover peanut butter. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create these delicious and festive treats that everyone will love.
