2 teaspoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips or cocoa powder instead of semisweet chocolate.
  • If you want a chewier cookie, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • For a crispier cookie, bake for a few minutes longer.
  • For a festive touch, top the cookies with chopped nuts, sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips before baking.
  • If you don't have a spring-loaded cookie scoop, you can use a tablespoon to measure out the dough.
  • Be sure to press the thumbprint into the dough deeply enough so that it will hold the filling.
  • If the filling is too thick to easily spread, you can thin it out with a little bit of milk or cream.
  • Chocolate pecan thumbprints can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
