Categories     Fall Dessert

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
2 red apples
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter (softened)
powdered sugar (for garnish)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400F and cut 6 square-shape parchment papers to line muffin pan.
  • First, cut apples in half then thinly slice them into slices. Place apple slices on a big plate and microwave them for 1-2 minutes, or until slices have softened a bit.
  • In a small mixing bowl combine 1/4 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Mix it well with a spoon or hands.
  • Next, cut puff pastry into 3 pieces, each piece will make one rose. Add about 1 tablespoon of cinnamon sugar mixture and evenly spread it using spatula.
  • After, add apple slices along long edge of dough, about 1/4 inch beyond edge of dough, overlapping apple slices. Sprinkle cinnamon over the slices and fold the bottom half of the dough over the apple slices. Carefully and NOT too tightly, starting from one end of the dough, roll to form rose shape dessert.
  • Repeat step 4-5 with the rest of the dough and apple slices. You will get total of 6 apple roses.
  • Place each apple rose in a muffin pan over a square parchment paper. Bake for 45 minutes or until dough is browned. Let cool. Sprinkle powered sugar over the top. Enjoy while it's warm with coffee or a scoop of ice cream.

Time 1h10m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large red apple, cored and very thinly sliced
¼ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
¼ cup melted butter
1 egg
2 teaspoons water
1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter 2 small ramekins (6 to 8 ounce) and dust with white sugar.
  • Place apple slices on a plate, overlapping slightly if necessary. Microwave on High about 45 seconds just until slices have softened a bit. Cover plate with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel.
  • Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Roll puff pastry sheet to less than 1/8-inch thickness. Using a pizza cutter, cut two 3-inch by 12-inch rectangles. Reserve remaining pieces for another use.
  • Spread melted butter over dough; top with a generous amount of cinnamon-sugar. Place apple slices along 1 long edge of dough, about 1/4 inch beyond edge of dough, overlapping slices slightly. Fold bottom half of dough over the apple slices to form a long "folder" of dough with rounded edges of apple slices exposed.
  • Beat egg and water together in a bowl. Paint surface of dough with egg wash. Sprinkle with more cinnamon-sugar, to taste.
  • Starting from one end, roll dough not too tightly to form a rose-shaped pastry. Seal roll with end of dough strip.
  • Transfer roses to prepared ramekins. Sprinkle with a little more cinnamon-sugar. Place ramekins directly on middle rack of preheated oven.
  • Bake until well browned, about 45 minutes. Remove ramekins with tongs and place on baking sheet to cool 5 to 10 minutes. Remove apple roses from ramekins and finish cooling on rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.

Time 45m

Yield 9

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 medium apples
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Flour, for sprinkling
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
5 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Grease or spray 9 regular-size muffin cups.
  • Wash and core apples. Thinly slice each one, leaving the peel on.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, heat 4 cups water, 4 tablespoons sugar and the lemon juice to boiling. Add the apple slices; boil about 3 minutes or until apples are soft. You want to be easily able to bend them without breaking.
  • Drain apples, and place on paper towels to dry and cool completely.
  • Sprinkle flour on work surface, and roll out dough sheet. Sprinkle 5 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon on surface of dough. Using pastry cutter (or pizza cutter), cut dough into 9 (1-inch) strips.
  • Arrange cooled apple slices end to end down each strip. Carefully roll up each strip, and place in muffin cup.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until nicely golden. Remove from pan, and cool on cooling rack. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use fresh apples: Fresh apples provide the best flavor and texture for the apple roses.
  • Peel the apples thinly: This will help the apple roses to hold their shape better.
  • Use a sharp knife: A sharp knife will make it easier to cut the apples into thin slices.
  • Be patient: Rolling the apple roses can be a bit time-consuming, but it's worth it for the beautiful and delicious result.
  • Don't overfill the apple roses: Too much filling will make it difficult to roll the apple roses and they may fall apart.
  • Bake the apple roses until they are golden brown: This will ensure that they are cooked through and have a slightly caramelized flavor.
  • Serve the apple roses warm or at room temperature: They are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they can also be served at room temperature.

Conclusion:

Cinnamon Roll Apple Roses are a delicious and impressive dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They're easy to make, but they look and taste like they came from a professional bakery. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a beautiful and delicious dessert that will wow your guests.
