My mom made these when I was a kid and we all loved them. They're good plain, or with a simple powdered sugar icing on top. They are really great with a cold glass of milk!!

Baking Cocoa drop cookies

These chocolate-flavored drop cookies have a crisp outside and chewy middle. They're very simple to make with basic ingredients such as butter, sugar, eggs, and all-purpose. Just follow these tips to ensure success every time.

  • Use room temperature butter. This will make it easier to cream together with sugar.
  • Make sure to pre-chill the cocoa powder. This will help prevent it from going clumpy when combined with other ingredients.
  • Be careful not to over-knead the batter. A few key stirs is all it takes to bring all ingredients together.
  • The correct type of cocoa is important. Natural cocoa will lend a bolder chocolate taste to these drop cookies. And be sure to sift the cocoa together with the other dry ingredients such as the all-purpose, sugar, salt, and leavening agent, to create a homogenous mixture.
  • You can either scoop the batter with a spoon or use a piping bag to create uniformed drop cookies. Make sure to leave a little space between each dollop to all them room to spread in the over.
  • Baking time will depend on the size of your drop cookies. The average will fall between 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
  • Conclusion

These simple-to-make cocoa drop cookies will become a classic in home bakeries. You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Need them to last longer? Try freezing them for up to two months.
