I started making this a few years ago for my family. It is one of my son's favorite meals. I take it to families with new babies and it's always a much-appreciated, comfort food.

1 whole chicken, thawed and washed
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (16 ounce) package wide egg noodles

Steps:

  • Place the washed chicken in the crock pot.
  • Cover with 1 cup of water, salt, and pepper (add any extra spices you may enjoy).
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 6-8 hours.
  • Let cool and debone the chicken (save the liquid).

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth
1/2 cup butter
24 ounces frozen egg noodles

6 ounces uncooked wide egg noodles
1/4 cup butter, divided
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons salt, divided
1-1/2 cups milk
1 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons white wine or additional chicken broth, optional
4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese, divided
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4 cups cubed cooked chicken
Paprika

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter. Stir in flour and 1-1/2 teaspoons salt until smooth. Gradually add milk and broth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
