Add in a little food coloring to the frosting and cake mix to create pastel shades if desired --- if you mix the cake batter by hand with a wooden spoon you will get a lesser amount of cupcakes, an electric mixer adds in more air while mixing you will get about 22-24 cupcakes --- for coconut cupcakes add in 1-2 teaspoons coconut extract (instead of the vanilla and almond extract) into the cake mix and frosting then sprinkle with soft flaked coconut on top of frosting.

CREAMY WHITE FROSTING

Creamy White Frosting image

A good friend passed this recipe to me back in the early 80's. I was so impressed with the flavor and texture that I had to have the recipe. It taste and looks like whipped cream. "Give it a try and see if I lie." Please follow the directions...and it is regular granulated sugar...not powdered...=) Note: You need to cook the milk/flour mixture for at least 30+ minutes to get to the right consistency...once it cools it's like a paste... I made 1/2 recipe and it covered a 9 inch pan cake...

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the frosting will taste. Use real butter, not margarine, and use fresh cream cheese.
  • Make sure the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature. This will make them easier to mix and will help the frosting achieve a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Beat the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. This will take a few minutes, but it's important to be patient. The longer you beat the butter and cream cheese, the creamier the frosting will be.
  • Add the sugar gradually. This will help prevent the frosting from becoming grainy.
  • Flavor the frosting to your liking. You can add vanilla extract, almond extract, lemon zest, or any other flavorings that you enjoy.
  • Use the frosting immediately or store it in the refrigerator. The frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. When you're ready to use it, let it come to room temperature for 30 minutes before stirring it.

Conclusion:

Creamy white frosting is a delicious and versatile frosting that can be used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts. It's easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make a creamy white frosting that will be the perfect finishing touch to your next dessert.
