Tips:

  • Choose the right nuts: Pecans, walnuts, almonds, and mixed nuts are all good choices for this recipe. Avoid using nuts that are already salted or flavored.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the nuts and spices, the better your sugared nuts will taste.
  • Don't overcrowd the slow cooker: Make sure there is enough space for the nuts to spread out in a single layer. If you overcrowd the slow cooker, the nuts will not cook evenly.
  • Stir the nuts occasionally: Stirring the nuts every 30 minutes or so will help to prevent them from sticking together. However, try not to stir them too often, as this can cause them to break down.
  • Cook the nuts until they are golden brown: The nuts are done cooking when they are golden brown and caramelized. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can quickly burn.
  • Let the nuts cool completely: Once the nuts are cooked, let them cool completely before storing them. This will help to prevent them from sticking together.

Conclusion:

Sugared nuts are a delicious and easy snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or simply to enjoy as a treat. With just a few simple ingredients and a slow cooker, you can make your own sugared nuts in no time. So next time you are looking for a sweet and crunchy snack, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
