DAD'S SIMPLE STEAK MARINADE

Dad's Simple Steak Marinade image

This recipe is one my father taught me. It is the simplest homemade marinade! Just 5 common ingredients! When used overnight, the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic make flank, skirt and sirloin steaks flavorful and, most importantly, tender for the grill! For more flavor, add Kosher salt and cracked black pepper to your steak while it cooks. Red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar may be substituted for the red wine.

Time 5m

Yield 16 fluid ounces, 32 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 cup tamari
1/4 cup Braggs liquid aminos
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon fish sauce

Steps:

  • If you are not gluten-sensitive, you may use 3/4 cup soy sauce in place of the tamari and liquid aminos.
  • Use any kind of mildly flavored oil of your choosing. I like Sun-Coco (sunflower-coconut oil blend) but you can use grapeseed oil, vegetable oil, a mild olive oil, or anything you like.
  • Blend all ingredients together.
  • Place in a jar, salad dressing bottle or cruet. Remember to shake before EACH use.
  • Use to marinate meat or vegetables. Let food marinate for 20 minutes to several hours, and grill or broil. This gives a lovely caramelized saltiness to every dish.

This is a good sauce you can use on a sandwich, as a dip for French fries, or to put on fish or meat when grilling. The plus is how fast this is to make while having lots of flavor. If you don't want to use a BBQ you can roast the veggies in the oven.

Tips for a Perfect Dale's Steak Marinade:

  • Choose the right cut of steak. Ribeye, strip, and sirloin are all good choices for marinating.
  • Use a flavorful marinade. Dale's Steak Marinade is a great option, but you can also use your own favorite marinade recipe.
  • Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours. Over-marinating can make the steak tough.
  • Bring the steak to room temperature before cooking. This will help the steak cook evenly.
  • Cook the steak over high heat. This will help to create a nice sear on the outside of the steak while keeping the inside juicy.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the steak.

Conclusion:

Dale's Steak Marinade is a delicious and easy way to add flavor to your favorite steaks. By following these tips, you can ensure that your steaks are perfectly marinated and cooked every time.
