DOMINO'S CINNASTICKS

Domino's Cinnasticks image

I have so many thoughts running through my mind with these things. For starters, you could use the Pillsbury pizza crust in the can, or the ready made dough in your bakery. I know Walmart sells it, or frozen dough. Either way these are a quick and easy to rustle up when you have friends over for coffee or your kids bring friends over. I have 2 other boys come over every Friday night for band practice and I am always looking for good and yummy things to feed them.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg. refrigerated pizza dough (or your favorite recipe)
1/4 C. melted margarine
1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Icing
1 Ib. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle. Brush melted margarine over dough. In a small bowl combine sugar, and cinnamon, mix well. Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture liberally over the pizza dough. Slice the dough into either long sticks, or cut dough in half, and then slice into smaller sticks. (The smaller sticks are easier to handle.) Place on an lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until done. While the pizza sticks are cooking mix together the powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. You may need to add an extra teaspoon of milk. Serve icing with sticks.

Tips:

  • For the dough:
  • To ensure the dough rises to its fullest, make sure the water is between 105°F and 115°F before adding the yeast. Lukewarm water helps activate the yeast, allowing it to produce carbon dioxide gas, which causes the dough to rise.
  • To avoid overworking the dough, mix it just until it comes together. Overworking the dough can develop the gluten too much, resulting in a tough texture.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for at least an hour. This allows the yeast to ferment and produce carbon dioxide gas, which causes the dough to rise.
  • For the filling:
  • Use high-quality cream cheese for the best flavor and texture. Look for cream cheese that is smooth and spreadable.
  • Add a bit of vanilla extract or cinnamon to the cream cheese filling for extra flavor.
  • For the glaze:
  • Use melted butter instead of oil for a richer flavor.
  • Add a bit of cinnamon and sugar to the melted butter for a classic cinnamon sugar glaze.
  • For baking:
  • Bake the CinnaSticks at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let the CinnaSticks cool slightly before serving. This will allow the glaze to set and the filling to firm up.

Conclusion:

These homemade CinnaSticks are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that will satisfy your sweet tooth and are perfect for any occasion, whether you're having a party, or just want a special snack. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create these delicious pastries that are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
