Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before starting, measure and prepare all ingredients. This will ensure a smooth cooking process.
  • Choose firm fish fillets: Fish like cod, salmon, or tilapia work well for this recipe. Make sure the fillets are of even thickness for even cooking.
  • Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice adds a brighter, more vibrant flavor than bottled juice.
  • Don't overcrowd the foil packets: Leave some space between the fish fillets and vegetables to ensure even cooking.
  • Seal the foil packets tightly: This will prevent the steam from escaping and ensure the fish and vegetables cook properly.
  • Cook until the fish is flaky: The fish is done cooking when it flakes easily with a fork. Overcooking will make the fish dry and tough.
  • Serve immediately: Foil packet baked fish piccata is best served hot out of the oven. Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges for a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Foil packet baked fish piccata is a quick, easy, and delicious weeknight meal. It's a great way to cook fish, as the foil packets keep the fish moist and flavorful. Plus, cleanup is a breeze! This recipe is easily customizable, so feel free to add or remove ingredients to suit your taste. For a healthier version, use whole wheat or quinoa instead of white rice. You can also add other vegetables to the foil packets, such as broccoli, zucchini, or bell peppers.
