There are a few other french toast casserole dishes here, but none quite like this one. My friend Kathy made this for a ladies brunch/book club and everyone loved it. I had to have the recipe!

Tips:

  • Use day-old bread for the best results. Stale bread will soak up the egg mixture more evenly and result in a more consistent casserole.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish. This will prevent the casserole from cooking evenly.
  • Bake the casserole until the center is set and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. This usually takes about 30-35 minutes.
  • Serve the casserole immediately with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include maple syrup, butter, fruit, and whipped cream.

Conclusion:

French toast casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast casserole that is perfect for a crowd. It can be made ahead of time and reheated in the morning, making it a great option for busy families.
