GRILLED PEACHES

Grilled Peaches image

Choose fruit with a fragrant aroma and flesh that yields a bit when pressed gently. If a peach has cuts or tan spots, or if it's rock-hard or mushy, don't buy it. Color has more to do with variety than ripeness.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, firm peaches: This will ensure that they hold their shape on the grill and have a sweet, juicy flavor.
  • Use a grill basket: This will help keep the peaches from falling through the grates and make them easier to flip.
  • Grill the peaches over medium heat: This will prevent them from burning or becoming mushy.
  • Brush the peaches with melted butter: This will help them caramelize and give them a golden brown color.
  • Serve the peaches immediately: They are best enjoyed warm, right off the grill.
  • For the mock crème anglaise, be sure to use full-fat coconut milk for the richest flavor and texture.
  • Sweeten the mock crème anglaise to taste. Start with a small amount of maple syrup or honey and add more as needed.
  • Garnish the grilled peaches with fresh mint or basil. This will add a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Grilled peaches are a delicious and easy summer dessert that can be enjoyed on their own or served with a variety of toppings. The mock crème anglaise is a light and flavorful sauce that perfectly complements the sweet, juicy peaches. This recipe is sure to be a hit at your next barbecue or potluck.
