2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans. Chill for at least 1 hour., Preheat oven to 375°. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. 1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ cups butter, softened
1 ¼ cups white sugar
1 ¼ cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

1 cup sultana
1/2 cup coconut
125 g melted butter
