Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
3 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
2 cups whipping cream
2/3 cup powdered sugar

Tips:

  • To make the lemon curd, use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh lemon juice, you can use bottled lemon juice, but the flavor will not be as bright.
  • When making the velvet cream, be sure to use heavy cream that contains at least 36% butterfat. This will help the cream whip up light and fluffy.
  • If you don't have a pastry bag fitted with a star tip, you can use a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off to pipe the velvet cream onto the cake.
  • For a more decadent cake, you can brush the layers with lemon simple syrup before assembling the cake. This will add extra moisture and flavor.
  • The cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Bring it to room temperature before serving.

Conclusion:

The lemon velvet cream cake is a delicious and elegant dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of the tangy lemon curd, the rich velvet cream, and the moist cake layers is simply irresistible. If you are looking for a special cake to make, this is the one for you.
