Provided by Always Cooking Up Something

Categories     Meat and Poultry Recipes     Chicken     Chicken Breast Recipes

Time 40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
1 pinch Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's®), or to taste
1 tablespoon water, or as needed

Steps:

  • Preheat convection oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle both sides with salt and Creole seasoning. Place chicken in a broiler pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Flip chicken and cook until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes more. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Remove chicken from pan. Pour water into the pan, while scraping the browned bits of food off of the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Add more water if needed to dislodge the browned bits; serve alongside chicken.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken pieces: For this recipe, bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts or thighs work best, as the bones and skin help to keep the chicken moist and flavorful.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade not only adds flavor to the chicken, but it also helps to tenderize it. Be sure to marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Roast the chicken at a high temperature: This will help to create a crispy skin and juicy interior. The ideal temperature is 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you overcrowd the pan, the chicken will not cook evenly. Be sure to leave some space between each piece of chicken.
  • Roast the chicken until it is cooked through: The best way to tell if the chicken is cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Conclusion:

Oven-baked chicken is a simple and delicious meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a flavorful and moist chicken dish that will be sure to impress your family and friends. So next time you're looking for an easy and delicious weeknight meal, give oven-baked chicken a try. You won't be disappointed!
