PIZZA TOPPING - SMOKED SALMON PIZZA

Pizza Topping - Smoked Salmon Pizza image

We often have pizza nights and our guests are encouraged to tell us in advance their favourite topping so we can shop up. I have a whole bench with different toppings and already made bases, we use Recipe #256080, our guests then dress their own pizza. We have come up with really good flavours and some flavours that are only meant to be made once. This pizza was one of the inventions founded by a few people. Capers may be salty so don't add salt until you sample the cooked pizza first.

SMOKED MOZZARELLA AND SUN-DRIED TOMATO PIZZA

Smoked Mozzarella And Sun-Dried Tomato Pizza image

Provided by Molly O'Neill

Categories     dinner, lunch, pizza and calzones, main course

Time 2h25m

Yield 4 main-course servings

Number Of Ingredients 3

Basic dough (see recipe)
1/2 pound sun-dried tomatoes, packed in oil, drained, oil reserved
1/2 pound smoked mozzarella, halved lengthwise and sliced thin

Steps:

  • Prepare the dough.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Brush the top of dough with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the oil reserved from the sun-dried tomatoes. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the dough from the oven and arrange the tomatoes over the top in a pinwheel fashion. Arrange the cheese slices in between the tomatoes. Bake until the cheese is melted and the dough is golden brown, about 5 minutes longer.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, ripe tomatoes, flavorful smoked salmon, and a good quality mozzarella cheese will make all the difference in the taste of your pizza.
  • Don't overcrowd the pizza. Too many toppings will make the pizza soggy and difficult to cook evenly.
  • Bake the pizza at a high temperature. This will help to create a crispy crust and prevent the pizza from becoming soggy.
  • Keep an eye on the pizza while it's baking. You don't want to overcook it, or the crust will become dry and the toppings will burn.
  • Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the cheese to set.

Conclusion:

Smoked salmon tomato pizza is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. With its smoky, savory flavor and crispy crust, this pizza is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty meal, give this recipe a try.
