TOMATO JUICE

Tomato Juice image

This is not a tried recipe but an adaptation from my "Juicer" recipes. It is expensive to make in off season as 12 tomatoes only make 4 glasses of juice. You can enhace the flavor by adding a slice of onion, a bay leaf & a bit of parsley or leave it plain. The tabasco is nice as it takes up the slack from no salt. Please let me know if it turns out. The request was for a low sodium

Tips:

  • To make the most flavorful spiced tomato juice, use ripe, flavorful tomatoes. Look for tomatoes that are deep red in color and free of blemishes.
  • If you don't have fresh tomatoes on hand, you can use canned tomato juice. However, be sure to choose a brand of tomato juice that is unsweetened and has no added salt.
  • You can adjust the amount of spices used in the recipe to suit your own taste. If you like a milder flavor, use less spice. If you prefer a more robust flavor, use more spice.
  • Spiced tomato juice can be enjoyed hot or cold. If you want to enjoy it hot, simply heat it up in a saucepan over medium heat until it is warmed through.
  • To make a refreshing cold spiced tomato juice, chill it in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. You can also add a few ice cubes to your glass when serving.

Spiced tomato juice is a delicious and healthy drink that can be enjoyed by people with and without diabetes.
