Time 35m

Yield 36 bites

Number Of Ingredients 5

One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
8 ounces Parmesan, grated (about 2 cups)
4 tablespoons seeded and chopped jalapeno peppers
1 large egg, beaten
3 cups dry plain breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix the cream cheese, Parmesan, jalapenos and egg to form a paste. Shape into balls using about 1/2 tablespoon of paste for each. Roll the balls in the breadcrumbs. Place on an un-greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm.

Tips:

  • Choose the right jalapeños: Look for firm, smooth jalapeños that are deep green in color. Avoid any jalapeños that have blemishes or bruises.
  • Wear gloves when handling jalapeños: The capsaicin in jalapeños can irritate your skin, so it's important to wear gloves when you're handling them. If you do get capsaicin on your skin, wash it off with soap and water immediately.
  • Be careful not to overcook the jalapeños: Overcooked jalapeños will lose their flavor and become mushy. Cook them just until they are tender and slightly charred.
  • Serve the jalapeño bites immediately: Jalapeño bites are best served hot and fresh. If you need to make them ahead of time, you can reheat them in the oven or microwave before serving.

Conclusion:

Spicy jalapeño bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any party or gathering. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is both flavorful and addictive. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy snack, give these spicy jalapeño bites a try.
