Tips:

  • Tenderizing the Steak: For a more tender steak, use a meat mallet or the back of a heavy knife to gently pound the steak before cooking. This helps break down the muscle fibers and makes the meat more tender.
  • Choosing the Right Whiskey: The type of whiskey you use for the sauce can greatly impact the flavor. Use a whiskey that has a smooth, rich flavor, such as a bourbon or a single malt scotch.
  • Cooking the Steak: To achieve a perfectly cooked steak, use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches your desired internal temperature. For a medium-rare steak, cook to an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).
  • Making the Sauce: Be sure to reduce the whiskey and cream mixture until it thickens slightly. This will help create a rich and flavorful sauce that coats the steak perfectly.
  • Serving the Steak: Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.

Conclusion:

This steak with a chive whiskey cream sauce is an easy-to-make yet impressive dish that is perfect for a special occasion dinner.
