Tips:

  • Select the right steak: For this recipe, ribeye, strip loin, or tenderloin are recommended for their tenderness and flavor. Look for steaks that are at least 1 inch thick for even cooking.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak in a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs not only adds flavor but also helps tenderize the meat.
  • Roast the onions properly: To achieve caramelized and flavorful onions, make sure to slice them thinly and toss them in a mixture of olive oil, salt, and pepper before roasting.
  • Use good quality balsamic vinegar: The balsamic vinegar used in the marinade and sauce should be of good quality and have a rich, sweet-tart flavor.
  • Cook the steak to your desired doneness: Depending on your preference, you can cook the steak to rare, medium-rare, medium, or well-done. Use a meat thermometer to ensure accurate cooking temperatures.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing: After cooking, allow the steak to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
