STRAWBERRY AND SPINACH SALAD WITH HONEY BALSAMIC VINAIGRETTE

Strawberry and Spinach Salad with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette image

This is a great easy summer salad, with a lot of options as to mixing and matching. Plus the salad looks pretty fancy. You can throw in any summer fruit or berry with this mix, blueberries and raspberries are a good choice, as are blackberries later in the season. The nuts are optional but a pecan or roasted almond adds a little crunch and more protein!

Tips for Making the Best Strawberry Vinaigrette:

  • Use ripe, sweet strawberries. This will ensure the vinaigrette has the best flavor.
  • Use a good quality olive oil. The olive oil is one of the main ingredients in the vinaigrette, so it's important to use a good one. Look for an olive oil that is extra virgin and has a fruity flavor.
  • Add a touch of honey or maple syrup. This will help to balance out the acidity of the vinegar and add a touch of sweetness to the vinaigrette.
  • Use fresh herbs. Fresh herbs, such as basil, chives, or mint, can add a lot of flavor to the vinaigrette. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but they won't be as flavorful.
  • Let the vinaigrette rest for a bit before using. This will allow the flavors to meld together and develop.

Conclusion:

Strawberry vinaigrette is a delicious and versatile dressing that can be used on salads, grilled meats, or fish. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. Experiment with different types of strawberries, vinegars, and herbs to create your own unique vinaigrette.
