My "adopted mother" gave me this recipe and I can honestly say they are the richest chocolate chip cookies and my absolute favourites.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350-370°F.
  • Cream the butter and sugars together.

1 egg

1 cup butter flavored shortening
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, cream the shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar together with a wooden spoon. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
