Time 45m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1 tablespoon white wine
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
1 clove garlic, minced
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
12 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 (4 ounce) filet mignon steaks
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon steak seasoning

Steps:

  • Whisk 1 tablespoon olive oil, butter, onion, wine, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, parsley, seafood seasoning, garlic, and black pepper together in a bowl; add shrimp. Toss to coat evenly. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for flavors to blend, at least 15 minutes.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. Coat steaks with 2 teaspoons olive oil; sprinkle with steak seasoning.
  • Cook steaks until they are beginning to firm and have reached your desired doneness, 5 to 7 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). Transfer steaks to a platter and loosely tent with a piece of aluminum foil.
  • Remove shrimp from marinade and grill until they are bright pink on the outside and the meat is no longer transparent in the center, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

Yield Makes about 12 cups

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 cups Chex rice cereal (about 3.5 oz.)
2 cups wasabi peas (about 6 oz.)
1 (3.5-oz.) bag Dang sticky-rice chips
1 (3.3-oz.) bag baked snap pea crisps
1 (3.1-oz.) bag Dang coconut chips
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 (0.18-oz.) packages SeaSnax, torn into quarters
1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. finely grated lime zest (from about 2 1/2 limes)
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup dried dill, plus more for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Toss rice cereal, wasabi peas, rice chips, snap pea crisps, and coconut chips in a large bowl. Drizzle butter over and toss gently to coat. Transfer to a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet and bake until lightly golden brown and warmed through, 8-10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, wipe out bowl and set aside. Pulse SeaSnax, garlic powder, lime zest, cayenne, salt, sugar, and 1/4 cup dill in a spice grinder or mini food processor, shaking or scraping down sides as needed, until finely ground.
  • As soon as snack mix comes out of the oven, transfer in 3 batches to reserved bowl, sprinkling each batch after adding to bowl with about one-third of dill-seaweed mixture. Gently toss with your hands (it should still be warm at this point, but cool enough to touch) until thoroughly coated. Let cool completely. Top with more dill to serve.
  • Do Ahead: Turf mix can be made 5 days ahead. Let cool, then store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Tips for Making the Best Turf Mix

  • Choose the right grass seed. The type of grass seed you choose will depend on your climate, soil conditions, and desired use.
  • Prepare the soil. Before seeding, it is important to prepare the soil by tilling it and removing any weeds or debris.
  • Apply fertilizer. Fertilizing the soil before seeding will help to ensure that the grass has the nutrients it needs to grow and thrive.
  • Seed the lawn. When seeding the lawn, be sure to spread the seed evenly and at the recommended rate.
  • Water the lawn. After seeding, it is important to water the lawn regularly to keep the soil moist.
  • Mow the lawn. Once the grass has grown to a height of 3-4 inches, it is time to mow it for the first time.
  • Aerate the lawn. Aerating the lawn will help to improve drainage and allow water and nutrients to reach the roots of the grass.
  • Apply weed control. Applying weed control will help to keep weeds from taking over the lawn.

Conclusion

Growing a lush and healthy lawn takes time and effort, but it is definitely worth it. By following these tips, you can create a lawn that you and your family will enjoy for years to come.
