We've got a challenge for you: Bake these vegan sugar cookies, set them out on a tray for a holiday party and see if anyone can guess that these are made with absolutely nothing sourced from animals. These were carefully developed to contain vegan ingredients only, but to also deliver on flavor and texture. After all, no one wants a so-so cookie, and that applies to vegans as much as it does everyone else. SIMPLE VEGAN SUGAR COOKIES

Simple Vegan Sugar Cookies image

This is a modified version of the Betty Crocker® vegan sugar cookies. I am not vegan but this recipe is the best I have used for avoiding egg and dairy (for allergy purposes). I serve these cookies all the time to non-vegans and they are always a huge hit. The key is to not over bake! Please note, each individual ingredient is not necessarily certified vegan. Decorate as you wish with your preferred cookie icing.

Tips:

  • Chill the dough before rolling and baking: This helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much and keeps them from losing their shape.
  • Roll out the dough to a uniform thickness: This ensures that the cookies bake evenly.
  • Use a sharp cookie cutter: This will give you clean, crisp edges on your cookies.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature: If the oven is too hot, the cookies will brown too quickly and the edges will be overcooked while the centers are still soft. If the oven is too cool, the cookies will take too long to bake and they will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting: This will help the frosting set properly and prevent it from sliding off the cookies.

Conclusion:

These vegan cut-out sugar cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be decorated with your favorite frosting and sprinkles. With a few simple tips, you can create beautiful and delicious cookies that will be a hit with everyone who tries them.
