Tips:

- Choose firm, tart apples that will hold their shape during baking. Good varieties include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn. - Cut a thin slice off the bottom of each apple so that it sits flat. This will help prevent the apples from wobbling and spilling their filling while baking. - Be sure to core the apples all the way to the bottom, but not through the bottom. You want to create a cavity that is large enough to hold the filling, but you don't want to cut all the way through the apple. - Mix the walnuts, raisins, sugar, spices, and butter together in a bowl until well combined. This is your filling. - Stuff the filling into the cored apples. You can use a spoon or your fingers to do this. - Place the apples in a baking dish and add water to the bottom of the dish. This will help prevent the apples from sticking to the dish and burning. - Bake the apples at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45-60 minutes, or until they are tender. You can test the apples for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, the apples are done. - Serve the apples warm or at room temperature. You can top them with whipped cream, ice cream, or caramel sauce, if desired.

Conclusion:

Walnut-raisin baked apples are a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. These apples are filled with a sweet and nutty filling and then baked until they are tender. They can be served warm or at room temperature and are a delicious way to end a meal.
