Big bowl of YUM! I can't take credit for this one & can't remember who gave me the recipe. Great for pot-lucks. You may substitute chunk pineapple instead of crushed if you like.

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (6 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drain juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
16 ounces Cool Whip (the large tub)
2 -4 ounces pecan pieces

Steps:

  • In huge bowl mix all ingredients until blended well. (I'm not crazy about nuts, so I only use a small bit of pecans.).
  • Variations: add another can of cherry pie filling and/or cocount flakes.
  • If you can resist, it is best after chilled for a couple of hours.

2 (20 ounce) cans crushed pineapple
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 (7 ounce) cans fruit cocktail, drained
2 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges, drained
2 bananas, sliced
1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple, reserving 1 cup of juice in a small saucepan and set pineapple aside.
  • To saucepan, add sugar, flour, eggs, orange juice, lemon juice and oil.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Boil for 1 minute, remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a large bowl, combine drained pineapple, fruit cocktail, oranges and bananas.
  • Fold in whipped cream and cooled sauce.
  • Chill for several hours.
