1/4 cup brewed coffee
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup powdered sugar
approx 1 1/2 teaspoons coffee

Steps:

  • Cream butter and granulated sugar; beat in egg. In a seperate bowl combine flour, baking soda, cardamom, soda, and salt. Combine 1/4 cup coffee and milk. Add flour mixture and coffee mixture alternately to creamed mixture. Stri in nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Mix powdered sugar and additional coffee to make spreading consistency. Spread over warm cookies. Cool; cut into bars.
