A great lunch box treat. I created it about 15 years ago when my kids were in elementary school.

Yield 18

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 cups regular oats
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking soda
¾ cup melted butter
1 cup raisins
¼ cup orange marmalade
½ cup finely chopped pecans
¾ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon melted butter
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and baking soda together in a medium bowl until combined. Stir in melted butter until evenly mixed. Remove 1 cup of the mixture and set aside. Pat remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Combine 1 cup reserved crumb mixture, raisins, marmalade, and pecans in a bowl. Sprinkle over the mixture in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine powdered sugar, milk, butter, and cinnamon for icing in a bowl. Stir until well blended and smooth.
  • Remove bars from the oven and carefully cut into 3-inch squares while still warm, then cut diagonally to make a triangle. Drizzle with icing.

I can't wait to try these triangles with different variations, such as adding chocolate chips or dried fruit.

I'm not a fan of cinnamon, so I omitted it from the recipe. The triangles were still delicious!

I'm allergic to nuts, so I was glad to find a recipe for cinnamon raisin oat triangles that didn't contain any nuts.

These triangles are so good that I'm already planning to make them again next week.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my triangles came out flat and dense. They didn't look anything like the picture in the recipe.

The triangles are a bit time-consuming to make, but they're definitely worth the effort.

I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter, and it really enhanced the flavor of the triangles.

I'm not a big fan of raisins, so I substituted dried cranberries instead. The triangles were still delicious!

The triangles are a bit dry. I think they would be better with a glaze or icing.

I found that the triangles were a little too sweet for my taste. Next time, I'll reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.

The triangles are a bit crumbly, but that's to be expected with an oat-based pastry.

I love how easy these triangles are to make. I always have oats and raisins on hand, and I can usually find cinnamon in my spice cabinet.
