Country Seed Bread (Bread Machine) image

I think this is another one of those recipes my mom clipped out of the Winnipeg Free Press. She doesn't have a bread machine, but she thought it sounded good, so the next time they came out to visit, she had me make a loaf for her! Since then, it's become a favourite around here -- especially at breakfast.

Yield 1 2-pound loaf

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/4 cups warm water
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup flax seed
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon poppy seed
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons instant yeast (bread machine)

Steps:

  • Mix in usual bread machine manner and bake.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my bread didn't turn out as good as I expected. It was a bit dry and crumbly.
