Number Of Ingredients 13

2 pounds chicken cutlets
3 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons ground paprika
2 tablespoons freshly cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 teaspoons ground cloves
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon soul food seasoning
4 eggs
4 cups salted pretzels

Steps:

  • Place chicken cutlets in a large bowl. Season with garlic, paprika, pepper, thyme, cilantro, and cloves. Mix in buttermilk. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a large baking sheet.
  • Mix flour, onion powder, and soul food seasoning together in a bowl. Beat eggs together in another bowl. Pulse pretzels in a food processor until finely crushed. Pour into a shallow bowl.
  • Lift chicken cutlets out of the marinade, letting excess drip back into the bowl. Dip chicken cutlets in flour, then in eggs and crushed pretzels. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Discard marinade.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until chicken is no longer pink in the center, about 40 minutes.

This is the worst oven-fried chicken recipe I've ever tried. The chicken was dry and tasteless.

This recipe is a waste of time. The chicken was tough and chewy.

I followed the recipe exactly and the chicken was still raw in the middle. I had to put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

The chicken was a bit bland. I think I should have used more seasoning.

I tried this recipe and the chicken was a bit dry. I think I may have overcooked it. But the flavor was good.

This recipe is easy to follow and the chicken turned out great. I used a mixture of chicken thighs and breasts and they were all cooked evenly. The coating was flavorful and crispy.

The chicken was crispy and delicious. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and they cooked perfectly in the time specified. I will definitely be making this again.

I've tried many oven-fried chicken recipes, but this one is by far the best. The coating is flavorful and the chicken is cooked evenly throughout. I will definitely be making this again.
