Our favorite brownie recipe for the Spring Holy Days. These are incredibly rich - a little goes a looong way!! They taste just like the Ande's mints, but in brownie form.

CHOCOLATE CAKE BROWNIES

Chocolate Cake Brownies image

A rich cake-like brownie topped with a decadent frosting. You can substitute the whole milk in the frosting with whatever you have on hand; it just won't be as rich (but still delicious!). This recipe came down from my grandmother. It makes a 9 x 13" pan full of brownies!

Categories     Bar Cookie

Time 1h

Yield 30 brownies

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 lb Hersheys Chocolate Syrup
1 cup flour
nuts (optional)
6 tablespoons whole milk
6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Steps:

  • For the brownies, preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in eggs.
  • Add chocolate, flour, and nuts.
  • Pour into a 9" x 13" greased pan and bake for 30 minutes.
  • While brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by boiling milk, sugar, and butter for 30 seconds.
  • Remove from burner and add chocolate chips.
  • Beat and spread on hot brownies.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The type of chocolate you use will greatly impact the flavor of your brownies. Choose a chocolate with a high cocoa content (70% or higher) for a rich, intense flavor.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in tough, dense brownies. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies in a preheated oven: This will help ensure that the brownies bake evenly.
  • Don't overbake the brownies: Overbaking the brownies will make them dry and crumbly. Bake the brownies just until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them: This will help prevent them from falling apart.

Conclusion:

These chocolate cake brownies are the perfect dessert for any occasion. They are rich, fudgy, and have the perfect balance of chocolate and cake. With just a few simple ingredients, you can easily make these delicious brownies at home. So next time you have a craving for chocolate, try this recipe for chocolate cake brownies.
